Official Invitation

Dear supporter,

I warmly invite you to attend the second annual “Sports Without Borders” Our Community National Conference, to be held in Melbourne on Friday 15 June 2012.

The conference will involve a practical exploration of the central theme of linkages and partnerships that advances sports inclusion, focusing in particular on inclusion of women and girls, people of all abilities, and Indigenous and CALD community members.

This year’s conference includes an exciting line-up of speakers, the likes of which you’re unlikely to see in any other setting. Our speakers come from all corners – from media, politics, grassroots sports, and government.

Plus there are also practical, hard-hitting sessions on how to get more grants funding for your club, and how to secure new members and improve your image, as well as inspirational talks
and case studies.

The new Federal Minister for Sport and Multicultural Affairs, Senator The Hon Kate Lundy,
will kick off the day, leading a stellar cast of speakers:

-Paul Kennedy, Host, ABC Contact Sport and ABC News Broadcast
-Phil Ruthven, Founder and chair of Ibis World – giving a state of the nation address on the
facts and stats behind community sport
-Clem Rodney, Indigenous Sport Program, Department of Sport and Recreation, Western
Australia
-Susan Crow, General Manager Community, Melbourne Heart Football Club
-Anna-Louise Kassulke, Service Manager, Gold Coast Recreation and Sport
-Patrick Moriarty, Our Community – talking about how to get more grants and money for
your club
-Brett de Hoedt, Hootville Communications – talking on how to get more members through
marketing
-Athalia Zwartz, Sports Without Borders – talking about how to get and manage linkages and
partnerships with particular reference to CALD communities
-And, to finish off the day, an inspirational message on the need for compassion and passion
in sport, featuring Frances Leach, ABC Grandstand Breakfast.

Book today by registering at www.ourcommunity.com.au/swb2012. You can also download a
full program on the above link.

I look forward to seeing you on this amazing day. Don’t miss it.
