Context: Sports Without Borders cheque giveaway to youth in north and western suburbs of Melbourne at Flemington Community Centre, Flemington.
Sports Without Borders is a not for profit organisation which is dedicated to providing support for young people from newly arrived migrant and refugee backgrounds who are involved or want to get
involved in sport. The first funding round for the year has ended and in celebration ofthe achievement ofyoung people participating in sport in north and western suburbs, SWB will be giving out cheques in a gift giving ceremony devoted to social inclusion. In this round Sports Without Borders will be granting over $16,000 to over 150 newly arrived and refugee youth from Melbourne metro area. Grantees from CALD communities, local government councillors and council officers, local organisations, representatives of the VictorianMulticultural Commission and Sports Without Borders Chairman James Demetriou will be attending.
The cheque giveaway promises to be an exciting event for a great cause. With great stories of disadvantaged youth taking the first step to social inclusion in their area SWB is proud to be associated with the
area of north and western suburbs of Melbourne and their respective councils. Our special thanks to Moonee Valley city council for hosting this event at the Flemington Community Centre, Flemington.
